Troubleshooting WebDAV delivery of scanned data from Xerox devices

Situation

  • Scanned data are not delivered using WebDAV transport protocol ( scanServerType = WebDAV ) although this protocol is supported by the device.

  • "A connection to the server could not be established." message is the device job log.

  • Network analysis shows no packet coming from MFD to the Dispatcher Paragon server on WebDAV port (see webdavPort system setting).

  • FTP transfer is working without any problem.

  • WebDAV works from other MFDs

Solution

The problem is usually caused by MFD network settings. Make sure "No Proxy" is set in device management.

On ConnectKey and AltaLink devices go to Properties > General Setup > Extensible Service Setup category.

Beware, that "Proxy Disabled" is not the same as "No Proxy", this is often the root cause.
