Public User Accounting

NOTE:

  • This feature is available for Konica Minolta only.

  • Public user accounting is supported only with embedded (device dependent) accounting.

General Overview

  • Public user accounting account for print jobs, copy jobs, scan jobs and faxes performed by a non-authenticated user.

  • All print/copy/scan/fax jobs are accounted for to a specific Dispatcher Paragon user defined in the system settings.

    • If the username is not specified in system settings, then all public jobs are accounted for to an unknown user.

  • All jobs performed by a non-authenticated user are displayed in Job list and included in Web reports.

  • Configure the Konica Minolta device to allow print without authentication.

Limitations and notes

  • IP Fax is accounted for as one scan job (from the outgoing device) and one incoming fax (from the receiving device) because the device's counters do not distinguish between regular scanning and scanning for IP Fax.

  • Fax accounting is licensed by a separate license and is not included in a license for this feature by default.

  • The public user does not have a record in Reports >Terminal access table.

  • Not all Konica Minolta devices send counters for duplex, in this case, the duplex job is accounted for as a simplex one.

  • Public print jobs are not spooled by the server and cannot be re-queued.

  • Extended accounting of colors (one color, two color) works together with Public user accounting.

  • The first public user operation (print, copy, scan or fax) is not accounted for after the terminal on the MFD was installed or reinstalled.
